Red Carpet Couture @Emmy's

Aug 30, 2010

Us Glamour-ettes know Summer is officially over when they roll out the Red Carpets in LalaLand. Oh yess, it's Award Season again!!!!

And this Glamour-ette absolutely Award Season! - even if by seeing Heidi Klum in her iniemienie dress, I feel the strange urge to go on an immediate Liquid Diet -   There's just nothing more Fun then playing Hollywood's Fashion Police sitting on your lazy size 12 butt, dressed in Aunty Germaine's fleece bathrobe going  'OMG, what was she THINKING!', 'Is that a dress, or Granny's Old Curtains?', or my All-Time Favorite: "Is that a Big Zit on Eva Longoria's Pretty face?!?'

Another joyous event - yet worse for one's self esteem - are The Gorgeous Dresses. Usually worn by Gorgeous, Stylish and Tres Chic Hollywood Starlets. And each year there's a Thing. We had the-one-shoulder Thing, the-bling-bling-JLo Thing, the LBD Thing and this year - for me - it's The Lace 'n Frills Thing. Love love LOVE those sweet frilly dresses with lace skirts. Gorgeous!!!!!!! What's Your Favorite?

Diana Agron in Carolina Herrera

Well, if I had to re-do The Wedding, I'd for sure choose this one as The One...

Jewel in Zuhair Murrad

Maybe a bit to Pink 'n Cutesy. But HELL, can one be too Cute or too Pink..??

Emily Deschanel in Max Azria Couture

Love the Colour, Love the Hair, Love the Frills

Heidi Klum in Marchesa

Okay Heidi, we get it, you're almost 40, a mother of 4 and look better then most of us 20 and 30 something's... NOW PUT THE LEGS AWAY!!!!!

January Jones in Atelier Versace

Poor Girl got slammed by The Tabloids for this Pretty Blue Number. I actually LOVE the thing!

Okay Ladies, Next Stop: The Golden Glooooooobes!!!!!!!!! I'll be wearing The Fabulous Bathrobe ;)

Mummy on a Mission!!

Aug 23, 2010

Paris with a 2-year old...

In every woman's life - Yes, even us Glamourettes! - there comes a time when instead of planning a Fabulous Fashiontrip to Paris with Les Filles, you'll be planning a weekend away with The Family. But that doesn't  mean one has to settle for Sunparks or Eurodisney, why not do something Completely Crazy and Irresponsible! Like taking your 2-year old on a Petite Trip to Paris, filled with as much Glitter&Glamour The Kid can take...

That was my mission this weekend, and My oh My, what a wonderfull time we had!!! Which might had something to do with an overdose of pains au chocolats and some rides on a Gorgeous Carrousel. Un plus un fait deux:  Le Jack - ànd mummy and daddy -  had the time of their life!

How To do Paris with a Cute Little Monster

1      Find Animals!!!

Les Tuileries are wonderfull to stroll around, relax and gently get into the 'Parisian way of life'. And more important: THERE ARE DUCKS!!! So, while you're relaxing in the sun with those XXL-cateye sunglasses that are so En Vogue these days, the Little One can chase the poor birds around with Daddy. Also in Le Jardin des Plantes there's a little public zoo that they will for sure L-O-V-E!

2       Have a 5* PicNic

Ok, I'll admit, shopping for that Fabulous Louis Vuitton leather skirt or Insanely Pretty Prada shoes is out of the question with The Little Monster. Just imagine those Sticky-pain-au-chocolat -Fingers on the French Couture. Quelle Horreur! But if, like me, you have a kid with a healthy appetite, Fancy Foodshopping is the answer.

Paris is packed with wonderfull 'traiteurs' where one can put together The Ultimate Glamour Picnic. We stopped by the Fancy Schmancy  food shop 'Fauchon' on Place de la Madeleine, then it was of to 'Hédiard' for some more gourmandises and Last Stop, Ladurée. Because what is a French Picnic without Macarons from Ladurée, n'est-ce pas?

3      Check into an UltraStylish Hotel

Well, it's not like you're gonna Spend Spend Spend on this little trip.. So instead of Indulging in some Serious Shoeshopping @ Le Rue Saint-Honoré, spoil yourself with a Deluxe Room like we did at Mama Shelter. Trust me, there's nothing more Glamourous then putting Baby to sleep in a Ginormous Hotelroom, leaving The Husband in bed with the Free Video on demand Service and have some Quiet Me-Time in the Jetstream bathtub (free Kiehl's products!!!). Hmmmmmzzzzzz....

ps the Big Bed is also perfect for some one-on-one bouncing fun...)

Some other random tips:

* Instead of having a Michelin-Star dinner and Cocktails @ a Fancy Rooftop Terrace go to the Happy Days Fifties Dinner. The Jackster got to eat fries out a cartonboard car. OMG!!!!!!! Little Boy Heaven!!!!!!! Also, Prada and Louis Vuitton showed nothing but fifties silhouettes for next season, so you'll be kinda High Fashion when dining here...

* Get a ticket for the Batobus. Great way for BabyFeet to explore Paris. Just hop on and off where you want et voilà. Also perfect for wearing those 12-inch heels without hurting The Footsies too much.

* The Funfair in Paris - although still a funfair - just that titbit more Glamourous then the local Kermis. You have the Fancy Carrousel (My God, I'd ride it myself if it wouldn't cost that much...), les barbes à Papa's, ... Big Kiddie Smiles guaranteed!!!!

Vive le Chuck!

Aug 18, 2010

SPOTTED: a 29-year Old Woman glued to the screen watching Teenage Soap about the Scandalous Lives of Manhattan's Young Elite! Watch Out L. or you'll be forgetting to open the shop soon because of 'just òne more episode...'

Ok, so I admit: I AM TOTALLY ADDICTED TO GOSSIP GIRL. Which is kinda stupid if you think about it.  A married mummy of one living in a really small house in the very UNglamourous town of Mechelen, Belgium. Drooling over the Young and Fabulous Teenqueens of Manhattan, New York making hard decisions like Oscar de la renta or Prada. Oh my Gosh...

But I just CAN NOT resist. Serena's ever-shiny hair, Jenny's O-M-G Fashion Choices #screams WANT WANT WANT#, Blair's collection of hairpieces and then that Chuck... Oh My Chuck.... There's something about his naughty-meets-nice-I-never-really-open-my-eyes kinda ways that make this Married LILY-ette go oeh-la-la-Chuck-me-pleazzzzzze. :)

Watch the new trailer for the Season 4 Premiere on my Facebook page (whooooooooooot)

Plan B Shoes

Apr 10, 2010

LILY-ettes    Big, Big, Bigger Heels.

LILY-ettes    Big Party's

LILY-ettes do not    Big Painfull Footsies!!!

so you can believe my gasps of unbelief, excitement and WANTWANTWANT when I stumbled upon this new shoe brand. Wel actually, brand would be an understament. As this is a f*cking Shoe Revolution Ladies...

What's the deal?? It's ballerina's!!!! Ballerina's in all sorts of pretty colors and sweet models that you can just FOLD UP AND PUT IN YOUR PURSE!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah... So when your footsies hurt like hell after a few hours of torture on the dancefloor in those 12-inch heels, you can just take the pretty ballerina's out of the evening purse and SWITCH! Told you it was a Revolution. :) Plus, they have a new special Sex and the City-line so you can wear Carrie at your feet. Just Lovely.

Love Lilly,

:kiss

 (Redfoot Revolution Ballerine's, in store as of april 20, 49 € - 64€)

pssssst, as I am a bride to be who refuses to wear those typical comfortable Granny-Style wedding shoes for The Big Day, I will for sure have a pair of pretty white foldable Ballerina's in my purse to put on after the Big Louboutins have destroyed my Bridal Footsies.

Lily Loves Stella

Feb 11, 2010

I'v always been a sucker for The Gap. Whenever I get my bootie over to the U S of A, I immediatly go Gap-Crazy. Especially when I was pregnant with The Little Jackster, I couldn't resist the cute rompers, sweet baby-sweatpants and unbelievably cool swimshorts!

You can believe my  OMG's when I heard about the Stella McCartney for Gap Junior line.  I  Stella even more then I love Gap!!!!!!!!! So forget about Jack! How can Miss Mummy get her not-so-baby-bootie into those kiddysizes??? Oh well...  I've never been the XS-type o'girl anyway... Never bothered me either... That is untill now! Please God, shrink my Butt&Boobies. I want to fit into that Fabulous Circus Vest...

Princess Lily's fairytale castle

Jan 16, 2010

There was a time when I wanted to eat, sleep and live in Barbie's Pink Dreamhome. With Ken feeding me marsmellow-cupcakes while whispering sweet nothings...Then there was the NYC appartment Mr Big bought Carrie. How fabulous can a walk-in closet get?!? I could easily imagine myself spending hours trying on outfits and matching Manohlo's. But that was before I laid eyes on this Magical Fairytale Mansion. OMG! Does it get any cuter then this.  Très mignon, no? The popping colors, the little pink cushions, the golden mirors. All very Marie-Antoinette meets Lily Allen meets Barbie. In two words: pretty perfect. My future castle is actually a London house photographers can hire for a - no doubt - fabulous shoot. Oh well..
